Common Components and Tools

Introduction

Everyone has their own way of optimizing their productivity; setting up the working environment is not an exception. In manifesting the best working environment to support everyone’s work, Nimvio has several UI behaviors and tools which may help you within content creation activities.

In this guide, you will learn about our common components and tools to help you get used to them.

Navigation

Navigate in a Project

Entering a project in Nimvio, you will have a clear separation of the modules in the top navigation bar, making it easy to determine where to go. Click on the Content menu to write content, click on the Media menu to work with media, and so on.

A module can have several sub-modules; for example Settings module has three sub-modules – General, Users, and Roles. In that case, the sub-modules are presented in the side navigation bar.

Change View Mode

Nimvio provides you with flexibility in the way you view the content or media. When organizing content, you can choose between list-view and tree-view. When organizing media, you can choose between list-view and grid-view. View options will appear in the left menu bar once you navigate to the Content or Media menu. To switch between view modes, just click one of the icon buttons in the left menu bar.

Search, Sort, and Filter Item

Table or list often become an information-dense component. To keep it light and easy to use, Nimvio provides you with search, sort, and filter tools so that you can quickly find anything you are looking for within the table.

Search

Search bar will always appear on the upper right of a table in Nimvio App. You can enter a keyword such as part of an item’s name in the search bar, then click on the Magnifier icon button to show results that match the keyword.

Sort

Sort function is bound to every column of a table in Nimvio App. You can click on the column title to sort the data in ascending or descending order based on the value of the data. If the ascending order is applied, the arrows in the column title will be changed to Up Arrow. While in descending order, the arrows will be changed to Down Arrow.

Filter

For the table that has predetermined category such as content list and media list, Nimvio also equipped it with filter tools located at the left sidebar. In the content case, you can filter your contents by the equipped template, publishing state, and author. While in the media case, you can filter the media by the media type and publishing state. To remove the applied filter, Click on Remove All Filters button above those categories.

Item Details

When you are looking for the item details in Nimvio, such as content or media, please find them at the right sidebar when you are opening the item. Some information can be obtained from the item details such as item properties, publishing state, last edited, and where the item is used in.
